CSTO summit in Bishkek. Number of documents planned to be signed

Summit of the Heads of State of the Collective Security Treaty Organization is taking place in Bishkek.

After joint photographing, the heads of state headed for the meeting in a narrow format.

CSTO website reports about over 20 issues on the agenda and signing of a number of documents.

«The Acting Secretary General of the organization Valery Semerikov will report on implementation of the decisions of the session of the Collective Security Council and the CSTO statutory bodies during the intersessional period,» the message says.

Following the meeting, it is planned to sign:

— Statements by the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on improving interaction and cooperation to strengthen international and regional security;

— Collective action plan of the CSTO countries to implement the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy for 2019-2021;

— Draft decision on the list of additional measures aimed at reducing tension in the Tajik-Afghan border area;

— Draft decision on amending the Regulation on the Collective Security Council of the CSTO and the Rules of Procedure of the CSTO bodies;

— Draft decision on amendment of the Regulation on operation of the permanent action of the CSTO countries to combat crimes in the field of information technology (PROXY operation);

— Action plan to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

In addition, the Collective Security Council will consider the organization’s budget for 2020.

Given Russia’s chairmanship in CSTO in 2020, it is expected that the Russian President Vladimir Putin will announce Russia’s priorities for the next intersessional period of the organization.
