A new park will appear in Bishkek at the intersection of Manas and Botaliev (Shcherbakov) Streets. Citizens and representatives of the city authorities laid a capsule at the place of its construction. Press service of the Bishkek City Administration reported.
The municipality reminded that the project of the park was chosen by the Bishkek residents themselves at public discussions. Making their proposals, they selected activity zones.
«Special thanks to a resident Maxim Tviritin, whose proposals were fully included in the concept of the new park,» the city administration stressed.
The area of about 7.4 hectares is planned to be divided into five zones: an entrance with an esplanade (large open space), a sports complex (a skate park and a ramp for cyclists, a football field, a volleyball and basketball court), a children’s area for toddlers, relaxation area (a large walking area with lawns and flower beds) and service zone. Parking lots and public toilets will be also organized.
Renewal of a green fund is also planned. At least 300 trees will be additionally planted in the park.
A contractor has been determined — Russian Construction Company. The cost of construction and installation works amounted to about 58 million soms. It is planned to complete them by the summer season of 2020.
The municipality added that the increase in park areas was a part of systematic measures to combat air pollution in the capital.
