Kyrgyzstan awaits another ICAO audit in April

At the beginning of April 2019, Kyrgyzstan will undergo another ICAO audit to withdraw from the EU blacklist. Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Akyshev told at a press conference.

According to him, an action plan to remove Kyrgyz airlines from the black list was signed in February 2017. As of today, it was fulfilled by 96 percent.

For the first time in 10 years, Kyrgyzstan has 84 percent passed ICAO audit.

«Thanks to this, we can be audited again in April. If we pass it positively, we will be able to apply for withdrawal from the EU blacklist. Only after that, until the end of 2019, we will work directly with the European Union,» Kurmanbek Akyshev stressed.

Recall, airlines of Kyrgyzstan were blacklisted by the European Union back in 2006. They are forbidden to operate flights to European cities.
