Kyrgyzstan not completely uses its export potential

«Kyrgyz exporters do not fully use their export potential,» Tatyana Valovaya, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said at a press conference.

According to her, the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union have a lot to learn from their Armenian colleagues. They have managed to organize the export of goods to the union’s market. At the same time, Tatyana Valovaya noted that the size of export of Kyrgyz goods to the EEU was also growing.

In 2017, exports of the Kyrgyz Republic grew by 21 percent, which is significantly more than in many other countries.

«But Kyrgyzstan has a reserve. A large number of goods from the republic before its accession to the EEU was re-exported. Those goods that according to statistics were export, in fact, were goods from China that were re-exported through the Kyrgyz Republic. Now we have a different situation. The share of re-exports is declining, there are indicators of net exports of goods that are produced in Kyrgyzstan,» she summed up.
