Former Speaker of the Parliament Akhmatbek Keldibekov, Prosecutor General Azimbek Beknazarov and the head of the State Committee for National Security Keneshbek Duishebaev repeatedly filed a lawsuit against the former president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and the director of April TV channel Dmitry Lozhnikov. The official representative of the plaintiffs Dinara Ashimova confirmed the information.
Earlier, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Bishkek did not allow the claim, since it was drawn up in violation of the law. The lawsuit was returned to fill the gaps. The repeated claim was again sent to the court today.
Akhmatbek Keldibekov, Azimbek Beknazarov and Keneshbek Duishebaev intend to recover material damage from Almazbek Atambayev and his TV channel. The amount of the claim is 18 million soms. Former high-ranking officials were outraged by Almazbek Atambayev’s interview with the television channel, in which he spoke out in their address.
It was reported earlier that Akhmatbek Keldibekov was suing three more media outlets — Kyrgyztoday, Asia News and Argument.kg. The total amount of the claims was 4 million soms.
As the lawyer of Akhmatbek Keldibekov Gulya Ryskulova told 24.kg news agency, the politician withdrew his material claims to Asia News and Argument.kg. He was satisfied with a refutation. Proceedings with Kyrgyztoday continue.
The director of April TV channel, Dmitry Lozhnikov, said earlier that he was ready to sue the former politicians and defend his rightness. There will be no refutations on the channel. In his opinion, the words of Almazbek Atambayev did not contain any slander or distortion of facts.
