Inter-Confessional Council created in Kyrgyzstan

An Inter-Confessional Council is being created in Kyrgyzstan. The director of the State Commission for Religious Affairs, Zaiyrbek Ergeshov, told reporters.

According to him, the council will work on building a dialogue and developing relations between representatives of different faiths.

«The main unifying factor for all religions is the observance of human rights,» said Zaiyrbek Ergeshov. According to him, there are no obstacles to religion in Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that creation of the council was initiated by religious organizations. The working group of the council included 17 religious organizations.

According to the State Commission for Religious Affairs, there are 3,057 religious organizations in Kyrgyzstan.
