According to the sources, the history of religions will be taught from the 7th grade. «The political decision has already been made, the innovation is being actively discussed at the level of working groups. But is this measure justified, given the upcoming reduction of the already high teaching load?» the sources asked.
In October 2021, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov spoke for the introduction of religious studies in schools. «We need to introduce religious studies to study not only Islam, but also other religions. The Minister of Education is already working in this direction,» the head of state said.
Earlier, he signed a decree «On approval of the concept of spiritual and moral development and physical education of an individual.»
