Osh City Court convicted four former police officers of Kyzyl-Kia town in Batken region. The Osh City Court informed 24.kg news agency.
In total, six people were involved in the case. Two of them were acquitted.
«In 2013, a murder was committed in Kyzyl-Kiya, the police detained a suspect and began to beat confession out of him. In total, they are charged with seven episodes of crimes, including torture, abuse of official position, abuse of office and extortion of a bribe. Four defendants were taken into custody in the courtroom,» the court reported.
Previously, the case was considered by Batken City and Jalal-Abad City Courts. However, due to the fact that the affected party expressed no confidence in them, the case was sent to Osh City Court.
«Former employees of Batken City Department of Internal Affairs were sentenced to 12, 13 and 14 years in prison. The defendants pleaded not guilty. However, the forensic medical examination and the testimony of witnesses confirmed their guilt,» court noted.
