At least 754 children have been adopted in Kyrgyzstan in 2018, which is 125 more than in 2017. The State Registration Service reported.
At the same time, according to the Child Rights Defenders’ League, there are more than 13,000 children in orphanages of the republic. But only 4 percent of them are orphans. The rest have one or both parents.
According to official data, only 200 childless married couples stand in the queue for adoption in Kyrgyzstan.
