New outpost opened on Kyrgyz-Uzbek border in Batken region

A new outpost was opened in Batken region on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. The State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The modern complex of modular buildings built at the outpost, includes a barrack with administrative premises, a house for officers and their families, warehouses, closed workshops for storage and repair of equipment, a kennel for working dogs and a bath house for personnel. There is a place for fire training and a sports ground.

«We must move away from standard methods in protecting the state border. The nature of threats and challenges is changing, respectively, and we must change the ways and methods of countering them, use new technologies and equipment, paying particular attention to creating the necessary conditions for the servicemen,» said the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Rayimberdi Duishenbiev.

Construction and equipping of the new complex was carried out under an agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Russia on the provision of technical assistance.
