Cabinet not ready to allocate 1.5 billion soms annually to Batken region

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan is not ready to allocate 1.5 billion soms annually to Batken region. Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers in the Parliament, Nurlan Boobekov, announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on constitutional legislation, state structure, judicial, legal issues and regulations.

It should be noted that parliament deputy Chyngyz Azhibaev proposes amendments to the Law on the Status of Batken region. The bill provides for additional annual subsidies to the region in the amount of 1.5 billion soms. The document is in second reading mode.

Commenting on the initiative, the official noted that the Cabinet of Ministers gave a negative opinion.

«About 500 million soms are provided annually for the development of Batken. Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a state program to ensure security, social and economic development of the region until 2035. We have problems with funds. There is a negative conclusion regarding the amount,» he explained.
