Since July 1 to September 1, 2018, the heavy vehicles are prohibited from traveling on the roads of Kyrgyzstan from 9.00 am till 8.00 pm. The Ministry of Transport and Roads has issued a corresponding order.
Restrictions are introduced to protect the public roads and increase the period of their operation. The restriction on the movement of heavy vehicles is introduced when the daytime air temperature reaches 28 degrees. During this period, the movement of heavy and large-sized vehicles with a maximum total mass of 25 tons and a load per axle of more than 7 tons is prohibited.
The Road, Water Transport and Weight Control Agency during the period of restrictions should monitor the process, and the Department of Road Facilities — to install on the roads the relevant signs.
The travel restrictions does not apply to vehicles transporting passengers, delivering humanitarian assistance, transporting bulky goods on the basis of special permits, carrying dangerous goods. In addition, the ban does not apply to the vehicles of the Ministry of Transport, and transport, which is involved in repairing of the roads.
