Marlen Mamataliev, a deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, initiates a bill to ban advertising of magical services. The document has been submitted for public discussion.
He explained that the bill is designed to eliminate the manipulation of citizens’ consciousness in the provision of services by any occult, magical and other unreliable ways, offering a solution to any problems for their own benefit.
According to the MP, many people who are in a difficult position in life often turn to so-called psychics and sorcerers, who promise to get rid of problems.
Marlen Mamataliev «is sad to see that in the age of high technology and scientific progress there is a large number of citizens in our country, who fall for the tricks of so-called psychics and magicians».
He noted that the Law on Advertising contains the concept of «Features of advertising of certain types of goods», it entails responsibility under the Code of Offenses. According to him, the document does not stipulate occult services.
The initiator proposes to impose a legislative ban on advertising fraudulent actions of sorcerers and magicians.
