Residents of Kochkor ask to place Sapar Isakov under house arrest

Residents of Kochkor district ask to change the measure of restraint to the former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov before the criminal case is considered by the court. They sent an appeal to the head of state.

The countrymen of the former high-ranking official noted that they supported the policy of Sooronbai Jeenbekov in the fight against corruption. However, in their opinion, the struggle is conducted selectively.

«We are disappointed that the laws work only against certain persons. The people have such an opinion. It is unfair to blame one person for the stolen for 27 years. We believe you have the strength to fight corruption. During the presidential elections, supporting the request of Sapar Isakov, we voted for your candidacy,» the statement said.

Fellow villagers of Sapar Isakov are waiting for justice and objectiveness.

Sapar Isakov was formally charged with corruption within the criminal case on the modernization of Bishkek Heating and Power Plant.

It was found out that in 2013, being the head of the Foreign Policy Department in the rank of the deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, he using his political position lobbied the interests of a foreign company while implementing the project on modernization of Bishkek HPP together with a group of people through organized, preplanned actions. As a result, the interests of the state and society were damaged in a particularly large amount.

Seven former top managers of the energy industry have already been arrested, including the former head of the Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev, former general director of Electric Stations company Salaidin Avazov. All seven were officially charged with corruption. Another ex-head of the government, Zhantoro Satybaldiev, deputy of the Parliament Osmonbek Artykbaev and ex-mayor of Bishkek Kubanychbek Kulmatov were also charged with corruption. They are also under arrest in SCNS jail.
