Penal colony prisoners continue hunger strike

Prisoners of the penal colony 27 continue their hunger strike. The State Penitentiary Service informed 24.kg news agency.

The requirements of the convicts are the same: change in the regime of their imprisonment, permission to use mobile phones.

«Officially, 60 people are protesting, 20 people get food, 10 people sewed their mouths shut, and 11 cut their hands. During this time, the ombudsman, representatives of the National Center for the Prevention of Torture visited the prisoners. It is noteworthy that the convicts went on a hunger strike in the holy month of the Muslim fast. It’s not the first time. The prisoners also went on a hunger strike with the same demands in 2017,» the State Penitentiary Service reported.

Recall, on June 5, about 70 convicts for extremism and terrorism went  on a hunger strike.
