President instructs head of financial police to increase damage compensation

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sooronbai Jeenbekov, today, on May 30, received the Chairman of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes, Bakir Tairov. The press service of the head of state reported.

They discussed the results of the service’s activities in the fight against corruption and economic crimes, including in the implementation of the decision of the Security Council.

The head of state noted a decrease in the results of operational work in all areas and drew attention to the need to strengthen work on the detection of corruption and economic crimes, especially in the regions of the country.

«Lack of experience or low professionalism does not allow timely and qualitatively to conduct investigative work. There are complaints from the businessmen about the professionalism of the employees of the Financial Police,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov said.

Chairman of the service, Bakir Tairov, noted that there was personnel reshuffle in the bodies of the Financial Police, especially in the regions of the country, taking into account the opinions of business entities.

The head of state mentioned the low rates in reimbursement by the Financial Police authorities and recalled that this was one of its most important functions.

President Sooronbai Jeenbekov demanded from the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes to intensify work in all areas, to improve work to identify and suppress economic and official crimes, as well as corruption-related, embezzlement of state or municipal property, illegal export of inventory and illegal gambling activities, the press service noted.
