Almost 400 minors have committed suicide for four years (2014-2017) in Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the Ministry of Education and Science provided such information to 24.kg news agency.
According to it, the highest number of cases was registered in 2014 — 106. In the last three years, statistics remains the same — more than 90 cases.
The reasons for suicide are personal and family, state of health, as well as social and economic ones.
The Ministry of Education approved the curriculum on a healthy lifestyle for students of 6-11 grades, which includes issues of prevention of suicidal behavior among the children.
The ministry noted that 78 hotlines are functioning in units of the Internal Affairs Departments on a permanent basis.
Since the beginning of 2018, several cases of suicide among schoolchildren in the regions of Kyrgyzstan have already occurred, including At-Bashi district of Naryn region, Kara-Suu district of Osh region and villages of Talas region.
