Kyrgyzstan received no response from the Eurasian Economic Commission and the World Trade Organization on the situation on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border. The Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Artem Novikov, told journalists the day before.
«There are procedural moments in WTO, there is a deadline for submitting applications, bilateral consultations. The issue is also being considered within EEU. We did not receive any answer,» he said.
Answering the question whether Kyrgyzstan could initiate holding of a special meeting of EEU on this issue, Artem Novikov replied: «The decision will be made taking into account the detailed analysis of Kazakhstan’s statements.»
Recall, since October 10, Kazakhstan has strengthened control on the sections of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz and Kazakh-Russian border. There are queues of heavy trucks coming from Kyrgyzstan at the checkpoints.
