Sapar Isakov and Bakytzhan Sagintayev agree on situation at border

Kyrgyz-Kazakh negotiations at the level of heads of government ended yesterday late evening in Astana.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on October 19, from 00.00, to ensure the priority order of crossing the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border for individuals with personal luggage, regular passenger buses, cars, empty cargo vehicles. Kazakh media reported with reference to the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

On October 18, a representative delegation of Kyrgyzstan headed by the Prime Minister Sapar Isakov arrived in Astana. The visit was initiated by the Kyrgyz side.

It is specified that during the meetings of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev and the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov the sides in a narrow and expanded format considered issues related to border, transport, phytosanitary and veterinary control, customs and tax administration, taking into account the relevant rules and regulations of EEU and WTO.

«As the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev repeatedly noted, the relations of the two fraternal states should be exemplary in all respects and become an example of effective and mutually beneficial cooperation in the region,» Bakytzhan Sagintayev stressed.

In his turn, Sapar Isakov informed that «he as the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan is inclined to constructive work.»

In addition, it was decided to form a working group chaired by the first deputy prime ministers of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to prepare a joint roadmap on topical issues of bilateral economic relations.
