Economy of Almaty 5 times exceeds GDP of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan

«As of today, the economy of Almaty twice exceeds Georgia’s GDP and almost five times — GDP of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. This is an indicator of the successful development not only of the city, but the country as a whole,» President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said, summing up the results of his working trip to Almaty and Almaty region. The head of the republic noted that Almaty is a donor of the republican budget and demonstrates the best in the country indicators of small and medium business.

«Almaty was formed as the largest economic center and became a modern Kazakhstani world level metropolis. During the years of independence, the city’s economy indicators grew rapidly and reached high values,» Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed.
