The future of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan depends on successful cooperation on transboundary rivers. The Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Nysynbayev told today at a press conference.
According to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan Zhanybek Kerimaliyev, water resources are of primary importance for Kyrgyzstan. «We are aware that the country is located in the zone of formation of rivers, so we need to cooperate with our neighbors. It is necessary to preserve agricultural land and water resources. Chui and Talas regions should become processing centers,» Zhanybek Kerimaliev said.
Erlan Nysynbayev added that ecology, economic development, the well-being of the population depends on the successful operation of the water economy. «Our rivers have a great mission of unification! The capital of Kyrgyzstan is located in the valley of Chu river. Talas town is situated on Talas river. We must strive to ensure them to be clean and full,» he said.
