51 candidates run for presidency in Kyrgyzstan as of August 12

At the end of the week, the number of candidates for the post of the head of state is 51 people. The Central Election Commission informed 24.kg news agency.

59 applicants intended to run for the presidency in Kyrgyzstan.

There were 48 self-nominees and 11 representatives from political parties. All seven women candidates are self-nominated.

Until August 31, they must submit documents for registration, which will last until September 10.

50 out of 59 presidential candidates had higher education, three — secondary, there is no information about education of six more candidates in the CEC.

Up to date, the CEC has registered only one candidate — Temir Sariev from the political party Ak-Shumkar. The decision was made on August 3.

Temir Sariev was the first who submitted all necessary documents and collected more than 60,000 signatures of citizens ready to support his candidacy.

According to the CEC, the day before Sooronbay Jeenbekov submitted 50,044 signatures and Bakyt Torobayev — 72,298 signatures in his support.
