The CEC refused to satisfy the appeal of the authorized representative of the presidential candidate Omurbek Tekebayev on granting him the opportunity to pass the state language exam. The decision was made today at CEC meeting.
After a long discussion, the members of the Central Election Commission decided to put the issue to the vote. The majority adopted the CEC decision on denial.
Omurbek Tekebayev was supposed to pass the exam on July 26, but the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek, which is considering the criminal case against the deputy, denied the petition of defendant’s lawyers on securing his presence at the exam.
Therefore, Omurbek Tekebayev will not be able to take part in the presidential race.
