Possible cause of Ananyevo blast – violation of safety rules

The possible cause of the explosion at the gas station in Ananyevo village, Issyk-Kul region, is violation of safety rules. The Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Boronov told today at a press conference.

According to him, eight people affected by the explosion and a fire at the gas station are being treated now, four of them are in grave condition, two people died.

«Our specialists work at the scene. The State Commission for Expertise is working, and as of today there is a suggestion: according to eyewitness, welding works were conducted there, and most likely there was a violation of safety rules when one tank was used to pump gas into three tanks," the minister said.

He noted that the pump that was pumping gas was made by handicraft method. «This all suggests that there was a violation of safety rules," Kubatbek Boronov said.

Recall, an explosion occurred on June 19, 2017 in Ananyevo village of Issyk-Kul region, which killed two people and eight were injured.
