Government: Kyrgyzstan not going to issue its own cryptocurrency

The government of Kyrgyzstan responded to reports that the country is preparing to issue national cryptocurrency. The Cabinet had no such plans, the Information Department of the government reported.

According to it, the Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov didn’t sign resolutions aimed at issuing cryptocurrency. At the same time, the Kyrgyz government didn’t authorize Trade House Kyrgyzstan to implement the project to issue cryptocurrency on behalf of the Cabinet.

«Therefore, the information published on June 14, 2017 on the Internet portal www.iz.ru that Kyrgyzstan is preparing to issue cryptocurrency, doesn’t correspond to reality," the Cabinet concluded.
