State Registration Service admits that it can’t cope with issue of new passports.
In connection with a large number of people wishing to obtain new ID cards, the schedule of work of the capital’s SRS offices was temporarily extended till 7.00 pm.
The department specified that since May 2, all service centers and branches of passport and visa registration offices accept new electronic forms for replacement the existing ID cards with new electronic biometric identification cards of the sample of 2017.
It should be noted that on the first day of accepting new forms, the number of citizens wishing to replace the old passport with a new was higher than usual throughout the country. A record number of citizens was accepted by Bishkek’s SRS — 1,498 citizens.
In general, 4,556 forms to obtain new identification cards were received throughout the country since May 2.
