According to the member of the Central Election Commission Kairat Osmonaliev, if the deputies approve the amendment to the constitutional law on elections in three readings and the campaign is held on October 15, the official preparation will begin on June 15. The Parliament has a month left to approve the changes proposed by the Social Democrats.
Earlier, the leader of SDPK parliamentary faction, Isa Omurkulov, told 24.kg news agency that the relevant bill had already been submitted to the Parliament and approved in the first reading — presidential elections could be held on the third Sunday of October.
