The President of Kyrgyzstan congratulated his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his victory in the presidential elections.

«Dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan! I am sincerely glad to congratulate you on your convincing victory in the runoff of the presidential elections. The people of Turkey have given you high confidence, as well as support for your course aimed at the social and economic development of the country and improving the well-being of citizens. Turkey has set an example of open, competitive and democratic elections.
I am confident that friendly and fraternal relations between our countries will continue to strengthen in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance,» the message says.
Recall, the presidential elections runoff took place in Turkey on May 28.
According to the results of counting more than 99 percent of the ballots, the current head of state, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was re-elected for a new term. According to Anadolu news agency, it was announced by the Supreme Election Council of Turkey.
Erdogan is winning 52.14 percent of the votes, preliminary results say. His rival, the opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, won 47.86 percent of the votes.
