Mar Baydzhiev to be awarded for outstanding contribution to national cinema

A playwright, scriptwriter, theater and film director Mar Baydzhiev will receive a statuette Ak Ilbirs for his outstanding contribution to the national cinema. One of the founders of the national film prize, the chairman of the Union of Cinematographers Taalaybek Kulmendeev told.

Mar Baydzhiev is a national writer, honored worker of arts of the Kirghiz SSR, high achiever of Soviet cinema, an academician of the National Film Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic. He stood at the origins of the Kyrgyz cinema, films made according to his scenarios were awarded the highest diplomas at world and all-Union film festivals. «The Descendant of the White Leopard», «Knockdown», «Train of Fools," «Golden Autumn» and many others were shot on his scripts.

The national film award Ak Ilbirs was established in order to recognize the best achievements in the field of cinematography on the territory of Kyrgyzstan and to stimulate the growth of the artistic level of the national cinema in all spheres of film production.
