Humanitarian aid delivered to Chatkal district villages hit by avalanches

Humanitarian aid was delivered to Chatkal and Kanysh-Kiya rural areas of Jalal-Abad region. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, Emergency Situations Department delivered slate and food that will be distributed by local authorities in the villages cut off from district center by heavy snowfall.

As reported, vehicles with the humanitarian aid left Osh city on February 17 but they had to return due to storm and avalanches on Chapchyma Pass (68^th kilometer of Ala-Buka — Kanysh-Kiya road), and only on February 21 they were again able to leave for the destination point.

Currently, Ala-Buka — Jany Bazaar — Kirovka and Krasnaya Gorka — Ak-Tash roads are open, internal roads have been cleared.
