Director-General of UNESCO Khaled El-Enani decided to grant the Organization’s patronage to the 6th World Nomad Games, which will take place from August 30 to September 6. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to the ministry, the decision was made as a result of joint efforts by the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO, the International Secretariat of the World Nomad Games, and the Permanent Delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic to UNESCO in Paris.
The granting of patronage confirms the international recognition of the World Nomad Games as a significant global initiative aimed at preserving and promoting traditional sports and games, as well as safeguarding an integral part of intangible cultural heritage.
The ministry noted that this decision creates additional opportunities to expand international participation and further promote Kyrgyzstan’s cultural heritage on the global stage.
