Sadyr Japarov signed a decree on the establishment of the National Agency for Religious Affairs and Interethnic Relations under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The new agency was formed on the basis of the State Commission for Religious Affairs.
According to the document, the agency is being transferred functions in the field of interethnic relations, previously under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy. Along with them, 14 staff units, as well as the corresponding financial, material and technical resources are being transferred.
The reorganization is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of state policy in the field of religion and strengthening interethnic harmony.
The decree comes into force today, April 15.
