Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev met with Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh during his official visit to the country. The press service of the Cabinet reported.
Adylbek Kasymaliev stated that Kyrgyzstan values friendly relations with Vietnam and is interested in developing bilateral cooperation.
«I am convinced that my visit will open a new page in the history of friendship and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam. This year marks 33 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Vietnam is an important and reliable partner for us in Southeast Asia. Activation of interaction will bring Kyrgyzstan-Vietnam relations to a new level,» the Chairman of the Cabinet said.
Adylbek Kasymaliyev noted the growth of trade turnover between the countries by 13 times from 2019 to 2024. For further economic cooperation, he suggested creating a Kyrgyz-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission and signing agreements in the areas of investment promotion and protection, economic cooperation and avoidance of double taxation.
Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the importance of political and economic dialogue and expressed willingness to support initiatives aimed at development of trade and investment.
«Vietnam greatly values its relations with Kyrgyzstan, a true friend of our country. We are committed to comprehensive cooperation,» the Prime Minister of Vietnam said.
The two sides discussed cooperation in trade, investment, industry, agriculture, energy, education, mining, tourism, and culture. They paid special attention to expanding transport and logistics ties.
