Director of Oncology Center dismissed after complaints from deputies

Director of the National Center of Oncology and Hematology Baktygul Sultangazieva was dismissed from her post on November 6. Deputy Minister of Health Kaarmanbek Baidavletov announced at a meeting of the Committee on Social Policy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.

Her deputy has been appointed acting director of the center.

Earlier, Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev submitted a recommendation to the Cabinet of Ministers to dismiss Baktygul Sultangazieva. She has headed the center since April 2021.

Earlier, MP Aisuluu Mamashova complained to the Minister of Health about the director of the Center of Oncology and Hematology Baktygul Sultangazieva. MP Aida Isatbek kyzy also expressed dissatisfaction with her work and asked representatives of the ministry to control her work.

«A woman contacted me, whose husband died from burns received during radiation therapy. The woman said that they had previously been treated in Turkey and there the radiation therapy dosage was determined over a month. And here they were prescribed it and got the burns in a day. And this is just one complaint out of hundreds,» Aisuluu Mamashova said.

The deputy asked the minister to take control of the work of the Oncology Center and stated that Baktygul Sultangazieva is not doing her job. According to Aisuluu Mamashova, she forces patients to go to her private clinic and performs surgeries there at night.
