Methamphetamine for 300 million soms confiscated from foreigner in Bishkek

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCMS), with the assistance of the Customs Service, stopped the activities of an international drug gang engaged in the transportation of narcotic drugs — methamphetamine in especially large quantities along Pakistan-Afghanistan-Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan route. The press center of the SCNS reported.

A foreign citizen was detained in October 2024 during the investigative activities in Bishkek, from whom narcotic drugs — methamphetamine with a total weight of 67,615 grams worth 300 million soms were seized.

It was established that the foreigner organized the shipment of methamphetamine, which arrived along the above-mentioned route, to Hong Kong via Kazakhstan.

The foreigner was placed in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS on suspicion of drug trafficking. Investigative measures are ongoing to identify other participants in the crime.
