As part of the annual meeting of governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev held talks with the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani. The parties discussed key issues of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the World Bank and opportunities for further development of partnership.
One of the central topics of discussion was the construction of Kambarata HPP 1, especially in the context of the social and environmental aspects of this project.
Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of ensuring sustainable development in the region and noted that the project is of strategic importance for Central Asia.
«Kambarata HPP 1 will not only be a source of clean energy, but also a catalyst for economic growth throughout Central Asia. We are determined to implement the project with the utmost responsibility, paying special attention to social and environmental aspects,» he said.
Antonella Bassani expressed support for Kambarata HPP 1 construction project, noting that «the project is increasingly attracting interest from the global community,» and agreed with the need for a comprehensive approach to its implementation. She emphasized that the project will create opportunities for economic reforms and will impact all sectors of the national economy.
«The World Bank is ready to provide Kyrgyzstan with comprehensive support in implementation of the Kambarata HPP 1 project, taking into account all social and environmental factors,» Antonella Bassani concluded.
