Kyrgyzstan has exported over 8 tons of gold since the beginning of 2024. The National Statistical Committee provided the data based on the results of eight months.
From January to August, the country exported 8,724.6 kilograms of gold for $639.6 million (55,847.9 billion soms). At least 4.8 tons of gold for $302 million were exported in the first half of last year.
The main deliveries were made to:
- Great Britain — 5,891.1 kilograms;
- Hong Kong (Special Administrative Region of the PRC) — 1,848.5 kilograms;
- Switzerland — 971.5 kilograms;
- UAE — 13.5 kilograms.
The price of gold exceeded $2,700 per ounce on October 18,hitting a new record high. The cost of gold on the spot market in the world for the first time exceeded $2,700 per ounce, adding 2.3 percent over the week.
