Construction of a perinatal center has begun in Talas on the basis of the regional combined hospital. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The main objective of the construction of a new 63-bed perinatal unit is to improve access of women and children in Talas region to high-quality medical services oriented to international standards.
The new perinatal unit will be built within 24 months and will become part of the existing maternity hospital.
This will significantly improve the level of medical care, especially for high-risk pregnant women and premature babies.
In addition to construction, the project includes strengthening the human resources of medical personnel, improving medical care for pregnant women and newborns with risks, as well as introducing innovative solutions in healthcare.
It will be a two-story building. The first floor will house the admission and maternity departments, the operating unit and auxiliary rooms. The second floor will house the resuscitation and post-intensive care departments, as well as other auxiliary rooms. The project is being implemented with the financial support of the German government and the German Development Bank (KfW) within the framework of the IX stage of the program «Health Protection of Mothers and Children».
