President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov arrives in Rome for official visit

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov arrived in Italy for an official visit. The head of state’s plane landed at Rome International Airport, where he and the First Lady Aigul Japarova were welcomed by representatives of the Italian and Vatican sides. The presidential press service reported.

On behalf of Italy, the guests were welcomed by Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cristiano Maggipinto and Senator of the Forza Italia party Francesco Silvestro.

On behalf of the Holy See, Archbishop Francesco Canalini and Head of Protocol Javier Fernandez Gonzalez were present.

As part of the visit, Sadyr Japarov is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Chairman of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, as well as with the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of Italy.

In addition, the President of Kyrgyzstan is expected to meet with Pope Francis.
