The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Switzerland, Omar Sultanov, held two important meetings focused on the development of cooperation in the fields of green technologies, infrastructure projects, and vocational education between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The first meeting with Markus Menzi, CEO of Bartholet Maschinenbau AG, and co-CEO Mathias Meyer focused on the next steps for implementing the cable car construction project in Bishkek, as well as the company’s potential involvement in ski resort projects in Kyrgyzstan.
Ambassador Omar Sultanov emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s interest in adopting alternative technologies that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the country’s ecological conditions. He expressed hope that Bartholet Maschinenbau AG’s entry into the Kyrgyz market will contribute significantly to the nation’s carbon neutrality goals.
The Swiss side presented its successful projects in India and Latin America and suggested customized solutions for Kyrgyzstan. As a result of the meeting, both parties agreed to organize a visit of Bartholet Maschinenbau AG’s delegation to Kyrgyzstan for further detailed discussions.
In a second meeting with Katrin Arioli, Head of the Zurich Canton Chancellery, Ambassador Sultanov discussed the prospects for enhancing cooperation between companies from Kyrgyzstan and Zurich, as well as the participation of local companies in the Kyrgyz Republic’s infrastructure projects. The meeting also focused on collaboration between scientific research and educational institutions, as well as the vocational training of Kyrgyz specialists.
The parties agreed on the next steps to strengthen cooperation, with the involvement of chambers of commerce, business and infrastructure associations, and research institutions and universities.
