Tomsk Oblast and Issyk-Kul regions discuss direct flights

Tomsk Oblast governor Vladimir Mazur and the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan in Issyk-Kul region Ulanbek Daliev signed an agreement on cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical, humanitarian and other spheres via video link, administration of the oblast reports.

«Vladimir Mazur and Ulanbek Daliev signed an agreement and a «roadmap» for partnership until 2026 in such areas as industry and trade; agriculture; science and technology, education, healthcare; information technology; culture and art; tourism, sports and youth policy; investment activities,» the statement says.

The Tomsk Oblast governor noted that their region is rich in natural resources and has a powerful scientific and educational complex that solves the problems of the most efficient use of these resources in the economy.

«I know that Issyk-Kul region faces the challenges of introducing information technologies into agriculture, increasing the degree of processing of agricultural products, and developing phytotechnologies. We will be happy to share our progress in these areas,» he said.

According to Vladimir Mazur, Tomsk companies and universities also have serious expertise in the field of geological exploration. He admitted that, given the importance of the mining industry for the economy of Issyk-Kul region, this topic will be in demand in joint work.

In turn, Ulanbek Daliev noted the high potential for interregional cooperation, drawing attention to the popularity of Tomsk universities among the youth in Issyk-Kul region. He also invited a delegation from the Tomsk Oblast to pay a working visit to the republic.

The signed agreement also provides for information assistance to businesses in both regions on the possibilities of export of agricultural and food products, as well as veterinary drugs, considering the issue of holding Days of Culture of Regions and studying the prospects for launching direct flights.
