Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev met with Deputy Director of the Department for the Foreign Capital Administration and Provision of Investment Abroad of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Jianhua. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The meeting participants discussed the project on construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. Bakyt Torobaev emphasized that this initiative is not just an infrastructure, but a strategic step that will open up new opportunities for economic development both for the participating countries themselves and for the entire region.
The project will also create new jobs, increase trade and attract investment, which will contribute to improving the standard of living of the population.
Bakyt Torobaev noted that the successful implementation of such a large-scale project requires not only significant financial investments, but also close cooperation between all participating countries, and the Kyrgyz Republic is ready to create favorable conditions for investors and ensure transparency at all stages.
On June 27, President Sadyr Japarov signed the Law «On the ratification of the agreement between the Government of the PRC, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the joint promotion of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, signed on June 6, 2024 in Beijing.»
