Stabilization has begun in the markets of Kyrgyzstan after a significant increase in meat prices. The Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry reported.
The department noted that the measures it took allowed to level out prices and avoid a further surge.
Recall, a steady increase in the cost of meat has been registered in the country over the past month. In early September, beef was sold in Osh market for 650-680 soms per kilogram, mutton — for 550-570 soms. For comparison: back in August, beef cost 550-580 soms, and mutton — about 450-470 soms. Meat has risen in price by almost 100 soms in one month.
Sellers explain the rise in prices by an increase in exports, which provoked a shortage on the domestic market and the increase in prices.
