Construction of a new building for a Children’s Cardiac Surgery Center has begun in Bishkek. A capsule-laying ceremony took place today, September 13 at the Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation.
According to the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, the center will specialize in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of congenital and acquired heart diseases in children.
The construction of a five-story hospital with 75 beds will be implemented as part of a public-private partnership. The total cost of the project is 375 million soms. The new center is scheduled to be commissioned in March 2025.
It will house key departments:
- Reception and consultation, diagnostic;
- Surgery unit with three operating rooms;
- Intensive care unit with 15 beds;
- Inpatient cardiac surgery department for children of different age groups;
- X-ray diagnostic department (MRI, CT, X-ray);
- Central sterilization department;
- Laundry and other utility rooms;
- Canteen and conference hall.
Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev noted the importance of the project.
«Thanks to the construction of the new Children’s Cardiac Surgery Center, children with congenital and acquired heart diseases will be able to receive vital services that will significantly improve their health and quality of life,» he said.
