Member of organized crime group detained in Bishkek

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) detained a member of an organized crime group nicknamed Cyborg.

According to the SCNS, the man was in close ties with the liquidated crime boss Kamchybek Asanbek (Kamchy Kolbaev) and a «mafia enforcer» for Balykchy. The detainee is suspected of extortion and illegal confiscation of funds and property from citizens with threats of physical violence.

The organized crime group member was detained on September 4 in Bishkek. A Makarov traumatic pistol was confiscated from him. A criminal case was opened against the detainee under Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. He is currently in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS, the investigation is ongoing.
