Toigonbai Abdykarov has been dismissed from the post of Director of the State Commission on Religious Affairs. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of state.
«President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov signed a decree according to which, guided by Article 71 of the Constitution, Abdykarov Toigonbai Zhorobaevich has been dismissed from the post of director of the State Commission on Religious Affairs in accordance with the submitted letter of resignation,» the statement says.
Earlier, the relevant department submitted the draft law «On Freedom of Religion and Religious Associations» for public discussion. The document caused a wide public outcry, and the head of state held a meeting on this topic.
