The United States announced the expansion of its sanctions lists by more than 400 legal entities and individuals from Russia, China and other countries on Friday.
Among them are:
- 42 companies from China;
- 8 — from Turkey;
- 11 — from Iran.
In addition, the list includes one legal entity each from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE and Ukraine.
The U.S. Department of State, the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Commerce announced the introduction of sanctions against new companies and individuals for complicity in the war with Ukraine, BBC reports.
As Reuters reported, the Department of State explained, among other things, that sanctions against dozens of Chinese companies are being imposed for participating in the supply of industrial equipment and microelectronics to Russia.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury said in a press statement that it was imposing sanctions on firms from transnational conglomerates that supply ammunition and other military supplies to Russia, help Russian oligarchs evade sanctions, and launder money from the sale of gold by a company that has already been sanctioned.
