Second stage of Sambo World Cup: Two Kyrgyzstanis win bronze medals

The second stage of the Sambo World Cup has started in Cholpon-Ata city. The competitions are held in four disciplines — men’s sport sambo; men’s combat sambo; women’s sport sambo; women’s combat sambo.

Athletes in the weight category up to 88 kilograms participated in the competitions on the first day. Aslan Abazov took first place, and Khojiakbar Saidov took second. Two representatives of the Kyrgyz team — Asylbek uulu Zhamalbek and Farukh Mamadzhanov- won bronze medals.

The winners of gold and silver are representatives of the FIAS-1 team. The Russian team, we recall, participates in all tournaments, except for national ones, under the name FIAS-1 with the flag and anthem of the International Sambo Federation.

More than 250 athletes from 14 countries are taking part in the competitions.
