Kumtor representative swims across Issyk-Kul lake

A member of the Board of Directors of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC, Baktybek Turusbekov, took part in the annual Issyk-Kul Swim Challenge 2024. The company reported.

Baktybek Turusbekov swam a distance of 14 kilometers and dedicated his participation in the swim to the Kyrgyz athletes, who participated in the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris, and to the Independence Day of the republic.

The swim route ran from the southern to the northern shore of Issyk-Kul lake. The control time for the participants, among whom were both amateurs and professional swimmers, was 7 hours.

Kumtor Gold Company noted that Baktybek Turusbekov is an experienced swimmer, who has repeatedly participated in open water competitions. Last year he won the 13 Bridges marathon in his age category, covering 27 kilometers along the Neva River in St. Petersburg.
