Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to France Sadyk Sher-Niyaz visited the Olympic village in Paris and met with some members of the national team. The official Telegram channel of the Cabinet of Ministers Gosinfo reported.
Together with the diplomat, the President of the National Olympic Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Mamytov and the head of the Boxing Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Umbetaly Kydyraliev came to support their compatriots.
Sadyk Sher-Niyaz met with the coaches of the Kyrgyzstan’s national wrestling team and got acquainted with the living conditions of the athletes. He noted that the embassy will provide comprehensive support and wished the athletes good luck in the upcoming competitions.
Recall, the wrestling tournament at the Olympic Games in Paris starts on August 5.
A total of 18 sets of medals will be awarded in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling among men and women. The Kyrgyz national team includes 10 athletes.
Competitions in one weight category will be held over two days. The finalists will be determined on the first day, and the consolation tournament fights, as well as fights for bronze and gold, will be held on the second day.
